Patience is an essential discipline. Some people have already integrated discipline into their personal lives so find the transition somewhat easy. Some people have ants in their pants, they have no patience.

In general, you shouldn't be entering a pot with less than 2 pair. If there has already been a bet made into the pot you should consider the ranks of your two pair. You cannot control poker in the short term but mathematically if you keep on making the correct moves you will walk away a winner.

Strive for the long term goal; this is to make the correct plays. To execute this you must have the patience to wait for the best opportunity. As you get more experienced you can mix up your play but never lose control of your patience, if you do, walk away!
